This organization also proposes that one of the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency is loss of weight, so at this point if there is a relation to body weight.

Most experts also deny the existence of any specific evidence that vitamin B12 would say that actually helps you lose weight. However, those who took supplements of vitamin B12 in isolated studies say they had a lower speed to gain weight than those who did not.

Some people opt for vitamin B12 injections for weight loss rather than supplements because it is injected directly into the muscle, achieving a better absorption than oral supplements according to a theory.

In summary Vitamin B12 is thought to increase metabolic rate and that in turn helps to burn fat, leading to weight loss, but even in theory, so we should expect more evidence before making decisions.
